Muse, The Verve tipped for V 2008

Muse and The Verve will headline V Festival 2008, according to reports.

The Devonshire rockers and the 'Bittersweet Symphony' band will top the bill at the summer event, claims Drowned In Sound.

Kaiser Chiefs and The Prodigy will reportedly join the pair on the lineup.

This year's V Festival takes place on August 16-17. Tickets are not currently on sale.

The Verve's Richard Ashcroft had previously stated his band should be one of the headliners at this year's Glastonbury, because they were one of the few acts that could take fans on "a journey".

Muse are currently working on the follow-up to 2006's Black Holes And Revelations album.

Dom ha estado hoy en el programa de Zane Lowe en Radio 1 hablando del nuevo dvd, y ha confirmado que tocarán en UK este año, aunque no ha dicho donde.

Muse To Use Spinal Tap As Inspiration At V Festival

Muse have promised to do something “on a Spinal Tap embarrassment level” when they headline the V Festival this summer.

The band’s frontman Matt Bellamy said that they were really looking forward to headlining the dual-festival – which takes place simultaneously in Staffordshire and Chelmsford.

“We’re gonna try and do something quite spectacular – we will try and get a UFO to come in and land on the top of (everyone's) heads or something,” he told the BBC.

Meanwhile, Muse will play a special one-of gig at the Royal Albert Hall next month on behalf of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The four night event will also feature headlining performances from Paul Weller and The Fratellis.

Star of The Mighty Boosh, Noel Fielding, will open the string of concerts with a comedy night which is expected to feature a number of special guests.
